Our Story
The Happy Yak was started by a hiker who grew up in Nepal, where the mountains aren't a weekend trip. They're just there, every time you look up. And so are the yaks: big, shaggy, completely unbothered. They carry heavy loads up steep trails, take breaks whenever they feel like it, and somehow always look a little bit happy about it.
Our founder always liked that about them.
The Happy Yak began because hiking shirts kept feeling too serious. Everything was about summits, speed and gear. But the best moments on a trail are usually the silly ones: the snack break that lasts longer than the hike, the "it's only another ten minutes" that turns into an hour, the friend who swears they know the way and absolutely does not.
So the founder started drawing those moments.
Every tee here is printed just for you when you order, so nothing sits in a warehouse and nothing gets wasted. They're soft, relaxed, and made to be worn on the trail, at the campsite, or on the couch afterward when your legs have given up.
We're a small shop. When you order, email, or tag us in a photo, there's a real person on the other end, and it still makes our day every time.
